2020 Sponsorship Shake Ups & Departures – Updated

So far as this decade comes to a close, we’ve already seen quite a few announcements of athletes making departures from their sponsors, but we’ve yet to see many announcements. Surely we will in the coming weeks. In any case, here are a handful of recent break ups, all in one place. Got any tips or hints at where any of these riders might be going? Let us know! After a few years of custom painted bikes, but no jump up to becoming an official C3 Project member, Reed Boggs is leaving the Wisconsin Brand. We’re excited for Reed’s bright future as a top Freeride athlete.

Quite the shake up, Jared Graves will be moving on from Specialized. Props to the Big S for supporting Jared throughout 2019, regardless of the battle he was facing. Very interested to see which bike Jared will be aboard for his return to the EWS stage.

In one of the more surprising, recent announcements, Andreu Lacondeguy is no longer riding for YT, a brand he quite literally helped build up. His brother rides for Commencal …

After 6 years as Devinci’s mainstay enduro racer, French Enduro racer Damien Oton is moving on. Perhaps he’ll be jumping on board with a French brand … Who knows?

Hard to believe that after all of these years of ground breaking edits and impressive moves on the bike, Chris Akrigg will no longer be blowing our minds on a Mongoose.

While he’s no longer in the racing spotlight, Jerome Clementz is still a very relevant athlete. He’ll no longer be representing Cannondale for 2020, a brand he was with for 11 years. We’re curious who he’ll be working with as he’s an excellent asset for development.

Noga Korem parting ways with GT after a couple of years. The up and coming EWS racer from Israel surely has a bright future – it will be interesting to see where she goes.

Steezy French freerider Eliot Lapotre is no longer riding with Commencal. Surely he’ll keep making entertaining edits though …

Eddie Masters is parting ways with Pivot. With his impressive recent results and an EWS win in 2019, he’ll likely be getting a big endorsement. Perhaps Sven Martin’s comment indicates that he might be getting a deal with Santa Cruz? Just a guess …

Thomas Lapayrie is moving on from Orbea, but he’s got a bright future ahead racing as well as making cool edits.

Tahnee and Kaos Seagrave are no longer going to be racing aboard Transitions. Surely the freakishly talented brother and sister have big plans with another brand. Time will tell!

After a long time with So Cal brand Intense, Aussie Jack Moir is moving on. He had a couple of really solid results a couple of years ago then battled some injuries. Perhaps a new sponsor will get him back in the mix with some fresh motivation.

It’s hard to think of Nico Vink riding anything but a Gambler, but sadly the day has come for him to part ways with Scott Bikes. Rumor has it he was in Bellingham recently. Evil doesn’t make a DH bike, but Transition does – Hmmmmmmmm ….
