Cane Creek just unveiled their newest product – the completely over the top eeWings cranks, entirely made of titanium and designed to weigh in around the same amount as the best carbon cranks available, but with an increase of stiffness of 20-30%.
The titanium used is Grade 9 for the cranks and Grade 5 for the axle, while the adjusting nut for the bearings of the bottom bracket is the only detail bit made of aluminum.
The axle is 30mm.
The cranks are available both in 170 and 175mm length.
They are compatible with X-Sync Direct Mount chainrings.
The brushed finish allows the cranks to be restored even after some time, to eliminate signs of use, and scratches, simply by using an abrasive brush. The logos are laser-printed.
The total weight is only 400 grams. The eeWings are covered by a 10-year warranty.
The list price is 999 Dollars. A very high figure as one can imagine right now, but titanium is NOT cheap. The eeWings cranks will be presented to the public at Sea Otter and then available on the market shortly after.
