6 of the 12 top riders from the UCI ranking started today at the Monte Tamaro Trophy, in Switzerland. Perfect weather and great trails awaited the riders, cheered by the crowd enjoying the first real warm weekend in Canton Ticino, young Nino fans included.

Between the women, Irina Kalentyeva from Russia dominates the race in front of Jenny Rissveds from Sweden and Marine Groccia from Switzerland in the technical track at the bottom of Monte Tamaro (remember the 2003 world championships?)

Jenny Rissveds defended her 2nd position during the whole race. She crashed twice while getting closer to Kalentyeva.

Unfortunately at the end of lap 1 Fumic had a flat tire, losing many positions.
