Absa Stage 5 Results

Heat, dust, headwinds and mechanical problems could not prevent Swiss Christoph Sauser and Czech Jaroslav Kulhavy from winning stage 5 of the Absa Cape Epic from Worcester to Wellington on Friday (March 20th) – their fourth stage win of the 2015 race.

The 121km / 2.500m climbing route also included some fierce climbs and took them up the national monument that is Bain’s Kloof Pass.

The women’s race continued to be dominated by Ariane Kleinhans from Switzerland and Annika Langvad from Denmark (team RECM), extending their lead to around 50 minutes over their closest challengers.

Results Stage 5 – MEN:

1st place: Team Investec-Songo-Specialized – Christoph Sauser (SUI) and Jaroslav Kulhavy (CZE)

2nd place: Team BULLS – Karl Platt (GER) and Urs Huber (SUI)

3rd place: Team RED-E Blend – Darren Lill (RSA) and  Waylon Woolcock (RSA)
