[Bike Check] Marcelo Gutierrez Giant Glory Advanced

[ad3]

Last week we spent an afternoon with the Giant Factory Off Road team just North of Los Angeles at Giant’s US headquarters. We tagged along for a nice trail ride that left from the office and went into the mountains, then landed down by the beach a few minutes from Malibu. Afterwards we grabbed Marcelo’s newest DH bike and snapped some pics of it with the new colorway for 2017…

Up front, Marcelo prefers a coil spring so he runs the RockShox Boxxer Team with a firm spring.
Out back he runs his Vivid R2C with a 350# SAR spring.
Full SRAM X01 DH 7 speed drivetrain…
…with some very interesting mods to the shifter’s thumb paddle.
Marcelo runs his Avid Code levers nearly level.
Hungry like the wolf…
HT’s X-2 pedals. Matchy matchy.
Truvativ Descendant cockpit.
Lock on ODI longneck grips.
Code calipers with 200mm Centerline rotors.
And the timer. Marcelo is one of a small handful of riders who is due for and deserving of a World Cup win.
Best of luck in 2017 Marcelo!
