[Bike check] Pivot Firebird with Shimano XT Di2

[ad3]Andrea Bruno from Tribe Distribution has provided our Italian pages with a Pivot Firebird frame for some long term tests.  We have mounted a series of components that will be reviewed in the coming months. While the bike is still new and untouched, we figured it was definitely worth photographing. The Phoenix is an Enduro bike with a carbon frame, 27.5 “wheels and 170mm of front and rear travel. Details and geometry here  Right out of the shop.  Shimano XT Di2 drivetrain with a 2X front featuring 24 & 34T rings.  If you haven’t heard of it, Shimano’s Di2 is an electronic drivetrain, operated by a single shifter thanks to Synchro Shifting .  The shift lever mounted on the right side of the bar.  The derailleur mounted up and ready to get to work on the 11-40T cassette.   Di2 display.  Shimano XT brakes.  The past problems of an inconsistent braking point are said to be resolved.  Ice Tech 180mm rotors front and rear. Rock Shox Lyrik RC3 Solo Air with 170mm of travel.  A Fox Float X2 with lever keeps the Firebird’s 170mm of travel moving. This unit is going back under recall.  DW Link suspension system.

The carbon frame has some really cool details, like the battery compartment for the electronic gear that you see under the down tube.

Internal cable routing. Oversized hardware.  Boost 148.   Mavic Deemax Pro, complete with Mavic’s tires as well.  Mavic Claw 2.5″ up front. Mavic Quest 2.5″ out back.   Yep Uptimizer 2.0, dropper post with 125mm of travel. The Joystick style remote is super easy to operate.  Renthal Fatbar Carbon – 10mm rise, 780mm width.  Renthal Apex stem in a short 40mm length. Renthal ultra tacky ramped grips.  Time Atac MX 12 Pedals

The weight of the bike assembled is exactly 14,110 Kg.

Special thanks to Robert, Shimano, and all the companies for providing us with the frame and components.
