[Press release] It’s science: if you look fast, you go fast. That’s why Canyon teamed up with Troy Lee Designs to create a limited edition Sender CFR and matching kit for the CLLCTV Factory Downhill Team. The specially colored Sender debuted for the first time at this year’s Lourdes World Cup and made headlines thanks to Luca Shaw’s fifth place finish. Canyon is now making this stunning Sender CFR TLD available to DH riders all over the world.
Troy Lee Designs’ iconic graphics are omnipresent on the downhill circuit. The American brand has a long history of partnering with the best athletes in the world, and although Canyon’s roots in the discipline are more recent, both companies share a desire to help the fastest riders go faster and faster.
Collaboration wasn’t child’s play. Taking the Sender CFR, one of the fastest bikes on the scene, and making it as fast as it is fast was no small feat, but Canyon and TLD did it. Yes, the racing stripes were involved. The matching kit is part of Troy Lee Design’s Marker line and has been developed to meet the versatility needs of professional DH riders.
“We at Canyon have always been fans of Troy Lee Designs and this bond has been strengthened in recent years with the development and support of our DH and Enduro programs. We couldn’t be more excited about a collaboration like this with an iconic brand of the sport. The final artwork surpassed all expectations and we can’t wait to start seeing them spin. ”Jack Noy, Canyon Bicycles Brand Manager | Gravity MTB.
“We have been partners of the Canyon Factory DH team for 5 seasons now and ever since Troy Brosnan introduced us to Canyon racing bikes, I have always wanted to paint one of these bikes. The lines of the frames lend themselves very well to paint jobs and I was looking forward to making this bike and reconnecting it to the race kits. I always try to make things look fast even when standing still and this package looks fast both in the pits and at the finish. Can’t wait for the next one! ”Troy Lee, founder.
Aside from the new look, the Sender CFR retains the same race-proven frame that led to multiple World Cup victories in the 2022 season. The lower center of gravity and longer wheelbase ensure greater stability at speed, while the headset and adjustable chainstays allow you to adjust the bike to the hyper-specific needs of different riders. The carbon frame has been optimized to reduce overall weight, while maintaining the same bombproof strength the range is known for. The Sender CFR is available in both full 29er and mullet configurations, to meet the needs of racers looking for absolute speed or greater handling.
The Sender CFR TLD is the flagship of Canyon’s downhill range and comes ready to race at the highest level. The bike features specifications inspired by the CLLCTV Factory DH Team, with SRAM X01 groupset, CODE RSC brakes and the Rockshox Boxxer Ultimate fork and Super Deluxe rear shock. A limited number of Sender CFR TLDs will be available exclusively on canyon.com starting June 8, 2022.
