Cécile Ravanel Suffers an Unfortunate Crash

Bad news from the Enduro world champion Cécile Ravanel: following a bad fall the French racer broke her cervical vertebrae C5 and C6, while the dorsal D4 and D5 are compressed. She also suffered a concussion. At the moment she is at the hospital in Nice – we at MTB Mag wish Cécile a quick and complete recovery!

Hi everyone I just wanted to let you know you I had a pretty bad crash last Thursday during a training session in one of my favorite track. To be quick, I broke my cervical vertebrae C5 and C6, got a compaction at my dorsal vertebrae D4 and D5 and had a concussion. I had a surgery in Nice Hospital the same day. I’ll have to wear a corset and a neck brace for several weeks and I can’t estimate my return on the bike yet but I know I was lucky and that’s the most important thing. Thanks to @peferry and @gaetan_vige, who helped me after my crash and thanks to Cedric to bring my mother’s homemade compote every day to the hospital. Ride for me and see you on a bike in a few months — Salut tout le monde, Je souhaite simplement vous avertir que j’ai lourdement chuté jeudi dernier en m’entraînant près de chez moi. Je me suis fracturée les cervicales C5 et C6 en plus d’avoir eu un tassement des vertèbres D4 et D5 et de me faire une commotion cérébrale. J’ai rapidement été transportée à Nice pour me faire opérer et je démarre une longue convalescence. Je vais devoir porter un corset ainsi qu’une minerve pour plusieurs semaines donc je ne peux pas estimer mon retour sur le vélo pour le moment mais je sais que j’ai été chanceuse. Merci à @peferry et @gaetan_vige qui étaient présents pour me secourir et à Cédric pour m’apporter la compote fait maison de ma mère tous les jours à l’hôpital.
