Countdown To World Cup: Building The World Cup Track

MTB team Trbovlje’s been really busy this winter building a world cup track and organizing the first world cup downhill race ever on Lošinj Island in Croatia. They have organised races since 1999 in hometown Trbovlje in Slovenia and five years ago they have started collaborating with local club AC Lošinj and hosting some races for Slovenian and Croatian Cup, last year also UCI C1 class race. Preparing the whole track was pretty demanding due to not having any access for a machinery. Except for the first 200 metres from a start, the whole track was build by human power, water and all building material was carried on foot. Here is a quick look into their’s work and track’s progression.
