Devinci Revises the Troy

Today Devinci is announcing the fourth generation of the Troy, the 140mm all mountain bike from the Canadian brand, with several new features including some features inherited from the Django and obviously updated geometry figures.

The suspension system obviously remains a Split Pivot layout, Devinci’s trademark that characterizes their entire range. The compression curve is compatible with the use of coil sprung rear shocks using trunnion attachment. The 140mm of rear travel is combined with 150mm travel forks on all setups except for the LTD setup, where the fork has 160mm travel.

The frame is made entirely of carbon fiber and is warranted for life. For those who prefer aluminum, the Troy range also includes builds with 6061 T6 alloy frames. The linkages are characterized by a design that almost completely hides the picots. The axles rotate on double row ball bearings which are double sealed.

The Split Pivot axle, concentric to the rear axle, has been made with a new system that allows for a smaller footprint and is 9.5mm narrower than the previous version. The rear hub is 157mm Super Boost and offers ample clearance for tires from 29″ up to 2.6″ wide.

The reach numbers are 15mm longer and the head angle is a degree more relaxed than the previous version, while the seat angle steeper. The length of the rear chainstays are optimized for each size with 435mm on sizes S and M, 440mm on the L and 445mm on the XL.

The geometry is also adjustable thanks to the flip chip at the lower mount of the shock absorber.

To maximize stiffness and performance of the seat post, the frame is spec’d for 34.9mm telescopic. The compatibility in terms of travel is 150mm for size S, 175mm for size M and 200mm for sizes L and XL. The bottom bracket shell is threaded and the rear end allows you to mount chainrings from 28 to 36 teeth.

The suspension system leaves room for a bottle cage that can accommodate standard sized bottles.

The chainstay and the down tube are abundantly protected by large and robust rubber sheaths.
