Less than a week after the exciting world championship in Les Gets , the best athletes of the world cup DH circuit return – today they took on the qualifying rounds of the eighth and final round of the 2022 UCI DH World Cup season. The grand finale takes place in Val di Sole, with the famous Black Snake track that never disappoints, the most physical, technical and feared of the entire circuit.
Andreas Kolb set the fastest time, almost 2 seconds ahead of Loris Vergier, while the third position went to Dakotah Norton. Benoit Coulanges landed in fourth place while the fifth position was occupied by Aaron Gwin. The next American was Luca Shaw in 17th.
World champion Valentina Höll joins her compatriot Kolb for a qualifying heat led by the Austrians. Second position for Monika Hrastnik and third for Eleonora Farina. Anna Newkirk was the fastest American in 7th place.
In the junior category, the new world champion Jordan Williams set the fastest time, followed by circuit leader Jackson Goldstone. Gracey Hemstreet dominated the women’s heat with over 16 seconds of advantage.
