Timed training for the first World Cup DH of the 2018 season has just concluded, on a very peculiar track – on the island of Lošinj in Croatia. The shortest in the history of the World Cup with its 1,300m length, but definitely tough and demanding.
The first timed training lap of the season shows a bit of a comeback for Brook Macdonald, with a time of 2: 22.739. In the second position was Sam Blenkinsop at +1.116 and the third is Loris Vergier at +2.589. The reigning World Champion Loic Bruni seems to have injured his elbow rather seriously, starting of the 2018 season in the worst way possible.
Rachel Atherton started the season well, followed by Emilie Siegenthaler in second place over 11 seconds back. Third place went to Slovenian Monika Hrastnik.
In the men’s Junior category, the first place with a clear advantage is the newest addition to the Canyon Factory Racing team – Australian Kye A’Hern.
