With the introduction of Boost and Metric sizing I had a bit of an itch to jump onto a new long term test bike. Obviously I’ve gotta keep up with all the new standards, right? Joking aside, last year I spent a bit of time on board a variety of test bikes but kept Evil in particular resonated with me. I was super impressed with both the Following and the Insurgent but itching for something that met in the middle…then, along came the Calling. First off, it has a bottle cage unlike the Insurgent; but with 20mm less travel based around the same suspension platform and frame design, it should be a bit more sprightly and easier on the climbs. With 27.5″ wheels as opposed to the 29″ wheels on the Following, it should also be much more light on its feet and easier to jump. As for the build, I chose a mix of proven parts which I tend to get along with from SRAM, Roval, Renthal and more. Full specs are below. Enjoy.
• Size Large
• 130mm rear travel
• 140mm front travel
• 30.0 pounds with pedals, set up tubeless
• Color : Muddy Waters
