DUB Goes DH – SRAM’s Updated X01 DH / GX1 DH

SRAM recently unveiled their new XO1 and GX1 DH groupset. While a fair amount of that gets categorized under new graphics, the big news is that incorporated DUB into their DH groups. In short, DUB is a new standard where SRAM’s cranks utilize a stronger, stiffer and lighter axle that pairs with all of its potential bottom bracket mates. This means bigger, longer lasting bearings, and if you’re ever transferring a set of cranks from frame to frame, you’ll only need to swap out your bottom bracket, at most, rather than potentially need new cranks altogether.

Gone is the clear plastic protection of old, and in is the new, tougher abrasion guard. It’s like a Rhino lining, but for your cranks, not your truck bed.

The new 28.99mm axle comes to the DH arena…

XO1 DH

GX1 DH

Much like XO1 DH, GX1 is relatively unchanged, with the exception of the fact that the tough, yet affordable Descendant crankset now sees DUB as well.
