Endura Launches Improved MT500 Waterproof Range

MT500 balances award-winning, power-packed performance with environmental sensitivity.

[Press Release] – Endura introduces the fourth generation of The MT500– Undisputed King of Mountain Jackets, along with the rest of the committed, feature-packed and majorly breathable MT500 line. This much-loved bombproof kit has been redesigned in conjunction with MTB royalty– Rachel, Gee, and Dan Atherton. Also setting this latest MT500 iteration apart from the pack are the collection’s eco credentials, making MT500 a Force For Good.

Since the brand was born, Endura’s flagship MT500 collection has pushed the boundaries of function, endurance and durability setting new standards in MTB apparel. Engineering apparel, helmets and protection for the Athertons and Hazzard Racing as well as a selection of talented enduro riders, the range has never been stronger or tougher. Award-winning no-nonsense kit for the committed mountain warrior… endurance and durability.

Endura’s MT500 Range has been designed to equip mountain bikers with best-in-class apparel and accessories, head to toe. Innovation is key to staying one berm or rock garden ahead of the competition, this philosophy allows Endura to bring exciting new products to market, including the world’s first flat-pedal mountain bike overshoe and an ultra-lightweight DH-certified full-face helmet.

NEW for FW2020, Endura has overhauled key best-selling MT500 waterproof items, from the award-winning king of the mountain jackets, the iconic MT500 Waterproof jacket, and the highly sought after MT500 Waterproof Onesie, to full-featured all-day riding MT500 Waterproof Shorts and Trousers.

Says Gee Atherton, two time DH World Champion, multiple World cup winner, and a Red Bull Rampage podium finisher, about the MT500 Waterproof Kit: “It’s a must. Unless you know it’s absolute hot dusty beach summer, it goes in the riding bag for sure.”

MT500 JACKET: The Ultimate, Award-Winning Performance MTB Jacket Just Got Better.

Endura’s iconic, class-leading waterproof jacket has been overhauled to ensure it keeps up with the demands of the progressive world of mountain biking. This best-selling product is a clear category leader thanks to its unbeatable combination of fabric performance and features. Available in a Men’s and in a Women’s version, the MT500 Waterproof Jacket retains all of the features that have built its universal appeal. With stacks of pockets, various clever venting options and an adjustable hood among the extensive list it takes a quantum leap forward with improved, slightly slimmer fit, styling and detailing to continue its reign as the undisputed king of mountain bike jackets. The new 2-way zips on the front pockets double as vents, ensuring that these work brilliantly both as pockets and vents. The hood construction and adjustment system have been improved so that the hood can now be worn over a helmet and also without a helmet on. Moving to the new ExoShell40DR fabric, and featuring a fully seam-sealed construction, the MT500 jacket combines monster breathability with durability for fiendishly fun foul weather mountain bike epics.

ExoShell40DR, the fabric at the heart of the killer new MT500 waterproof collection boasts the same category leading breathability and waterproof ratings as the standard ExoShell40 but with the durability (DR) dialed up to tackle the harshest mountain terrain. A tough, durable outer layer is paired with a soft touch, high wicking mesh inner layer that efficiently moves moisture away from your skin and through the super-fine fluorine-free membrane sandwiched in the middle. As with all of Endura’s waterproofs, ExoShell40DR is treated with an environmentally friendly PFC free DWR treatment. This fabric is also certified as having been made in a way that eliminates harmful substances from the supply chain; ensuring that products are safe for consumers, workers and the environment. This means that the only trace you will leave on the mountain is the tracks from your tires.

Rachel Atherton, six-time DH MTB World Champion, says about the MT500 Jacket: “I like the vents. If you’re climbing and it’s windy and drizzling, you’re still aerated and fresh. You can tie it around your waist, and it’s light enough to put in your bag. It’s perfect really…You can fit your pads on and your backplate, and you’re still comfortable to ride.”

MT500 WATERPROOF ONESIE II

The next-gen ultimate foul weather mountain bike onesie that packs all of the tech needed to protect you from day-long downpours– now with improved rear construction!

Updated for FW20, the MT500 Waterproof One Piece II, do-it-all, foul-weather onesie just got even better. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face, the serious tech at its heart is ready to be deployed when nothing else is up to the job. This one-piece all-mountain suit reminds you that the worst weather can deliver the best days. For all you riders that like to get “downright dirty!”

Endura has kept the successful one-piece, split front design for maximum mud protection and comfort fit, however, significant changes have been made to the construction around the rear with the “jacket” tail now extending further down. A gusseted attachment to the waistband improves fit with less pulling on this crucial part and allows for more height accommodation. The onesie now features more of a jacket and pants “separates” look. The heavily sprayed rear area also benefits from improved waterproofing.

“I would say if you’re born in the UK you should be given a waterproof onesie when you’re born because you need it all the time,” says Rachel Atherton.

Dan Atherton, former UK national champion and current passionate trail builder, adds: “Honestly, no joke, I wake up in the morning and I put it on, and that’s me, all day. It’s surprisingly durable as well, not only to ride in but I’m working in it all day as well. So it’s getting a hammer as I’m on the diggers and carrying logs and basically giving it a thrashing, not just on the bike. It’s amazing.”

MT500 WATERPROOF TROUSER II & MT500 WATERPROOF SHORT II

Overhauled rugged rain protection for your legs.

Endura has seriously turned up the “All-mountain” dial to create the latest and greatest iteration of the best-selling MT500 Waterproof Trouser II and MT500 Waterproof Short II. With the new, more durable ExoShell40DR fabric and styling update to keep them in line with the rest of the revamped MT500 waterproof collection, these are sure to be your go-to wet weather trousers for rides to come.

Made from exceptionally breathable and durable ExoShell40DR 3-Layer waterproof fabric in a fully seam-sealed construction, the trousers and shorts are pre-shaped for great on-bike articulated fit with stretch panels for unrestricted movement. They feature water-resistant hand pockets, an extra durable seat panel, knee pad compatible fit, and belt loops and zipped fly popper closure.

The MT500 Waterproof Trouser II has long, thigh height 2-way water repellent side zips which make the trousers easy to get on and off, with the top half of the zips doubling up as thigh vents with mesh gussets.

Gee Atherton says about the MT500 Jacket and MT500 Trousers: “And that satisfying feeling at the end of the day: you just like literally zip the jacket off, zip the sides up of the bottoms, and then even with your shoes on you can just put your trousers off, and you’re so clean underneath and so dry, it’s like you just got dressed – and you’ve just spent a whole day riding in them in the mud and in the rain!”
