Michal Prokop before the start of the race.

Trail number 1, the start of a long day.

Loose and wide open was the opinion of Georgy the race director.

The Cube Action team were here in force, unfortunately Scott Laughland flatted and was held up in the results table.

Max Schuman with his new autostand bike.

James Shirley was focused and managed 8th, a good start to the season for him.

Local rider Alessandro Bagnoli managed a 1st place in the masters category.

Smiles and relaxed at the top.

Each rider has his time sheet on his bike so he can judge the ideal speed to ride.

After transfers, correct hydration was key.

Steffie Testchler was on hand and managed a respectable 6th place.

First rider down the track each time, he had a clear run, and a gap of 5 mins between him and the following rider. The advantages of a chip system are clear.

Speed can be made up with little hops in the right place saving vital seconds.

Alessandro Bagnoli was worried a crash on stage 2 lost him a few places, yet he held on to the end.

The run in to the finish of stage 3 was fast and rocky, leave the fear at home.

Stage 4 was interesting as different riders chose different lines, this line required a double hop.

Some chose to go straight, loose and fast but risky.

Others over cooked it…

…finding themselves looking back up the track.

Smooth and controlled equals speed.

Rock Oh claimed a victim and a very expensive wheel…

The easy right line is safe but slow.

Steffie managed to stay smooth and enjoy the flow section after the harsh rocks.

The transfer back to the paddock.
