Exploring in the Slovenian Alps

Slovenia, 12 June 2018 – Trans Julius is a young 4-day enduro MTB adventure in the Slovenian Alps. For the second year in a row the competition will take place from 21st to 24th June 2018 on four different locations – Kranjska Gora, Bohinj, Soča Valley and Cerkno. With 3,000 metres of descent in 4 days riders will explore from flow to technical trails on daily and night stages. Additionally after each racing day they will enjoy the culinary diversity of Slovenian traditional food.

About 100 riders are coming from 9 countries: Great Britain, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary, Austria, Croatia and Slovenia. First day in Kranjska Gora, destination known mostly for its tradition in world cup alpine skiing competition, riders will deal with a daily and night stage. The next day they will go to Bohinj where they will ride a historical trail, made by Italian soldiers at the beginning of 20th century. The evening concert with Slovenian indie rock band Koala Voice and special edition of Trans Julius beer will be perfect introduction into the weekend riding. Third day will start with a car train transfer to Soča Valley. The best trails voted by Trans Julius 2017 riders is even longer this year. Special location above the emerald river Soča is prepared to show why it is one of the most popular outdoor destinations in Slovenia. The last day Bike&Fun Park Cerkno will host 3 stages. The riders are the most excited about a mass start and flow trails at one of the youngest bike parks in Slovenia.

The organisation of 4-day enduro MTB adventure Trans Julius is the result of constructive cooperation of different institution: Institute of Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation, Slovenian Forest Service, Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry of Slovenia, more than 80 landlords, local tourist organisations – Bohinj, Soča Valley, Cerkno and Kranjska Gora.
