Swedish rider Emil Johansson made himself known at the young age of 18 as a slopestyle talent during the 2017 season of the FMB World Tour. In that breakout year, he climbed the podium four times, beating veteran champs such as Brandon Semenuk and Brett Rheeder and eventually winning the overall.
The biggest challenge, however, that he faced during 2018, when a back problem caused by an autoimmune disease had seriously compromised his health to such an extent that he risked not being able to partake in physical activity at all.
Emil did not give up and fought against the disease, finally engaging in a slow and tiring recovery that allowed him to return to the saddle and compete again for the title in the 2019 season. This movie is a story of passion, stubbornness and dedication.
We will see Emil back in action again at the Crankworx slopestyle world championship in Innsbruck next June 14th and 15th, live on Red Bull TV .
