[First Look] Lapierre XR Cross Country – Marathon Bike

[ad3]

Lapierre has recently unveiled the new XR cross country/marathon bike. Utilizing a Boost hub standard and an OST+ link that is driven by an E:i electronically activated shock, the XR is all about efficiency, response and control.

Specifications/Geometry

Gone are the flexible carbon fiber chainstays of last year’s version, with Lapierre firmly moving towards the Horst link setup based on their OST+ system. The head angle has been opened a little to provide slightly smoother descending characteristics.

The ei shock controller.
The new frame/shock assembly with automatic lockout control.
The trap door allows batteries for shocks and shifters to be stored internally.
The shock activation sensor cable discretely passes down to the fork with the brake cable.
Front mechanical lockout control.
The bar controls are easy to access and give on the fly tuning.
Water proofing has been improved by rotating the battery mount 180 degrees, water now does not “sit” on the contact point.

The XR now also offers Lapierre’s new telescopic seat post with internal cable routing.

  • 31.6mm diameter.
  • 100, 125, 150mm of travel.
  • Stealth cable routing.
  • Flexible remote positioning.
  • 490g for 125mm version.
