Normally by the end of January sponsorhips are done and signed. Not for the Focus XC Team and its strongest athlete, Florian Vogel, who received yesterday the bad news of the end of the partnership with the German brand.
That same Flo Vogel who won the 2017 XC European Championships and that Focus used to promote its newest Ebike with a no-stop Alps Crossing last October.
Florian has written a long Facebook post that was later deleted. We wish him and his team all the best for the 2018 season.
EDIT Feb. 2, 2018
The FOCUS XC team dissociates itself from the manner of the public statements of
Florian Vogel. These were in no way agreed with the team management and do not
reflect the opinion of the Focus XC team.
We have already talked about it with Florian. He regrets his statements, apologizes
to the team and the partners and will not speak publicly in this way in the future.
The team management of the FOCUS XC team has ensured the implementation of
racing for the 2018 season after consultation with our partners.. Therefore we should
concentrate now together with Florian fully on the successful running of the race
season.
