Futuristic and Aggressive – The Unno Burn

First DH World Cup athlete and later an innovative designer, creator of Mondraker’s Forward Geometry and several other concepts in the world of MTB – the owner of the Unno brand, Spaniard Cesar Rojo, has a long experience which he has channeled into his brand based in Barcelona. His latest creation is the Burn, a new long-travel beast with a futuristic design and interesting technical features.

The Burn is named after Mount Blackburn in the United States. It has 160mm of travel at the rear wheel, which is 27.5″, and 170mm on the fork that supports a 29-inch wheel. Long and aggressive geometry and a new suspension system compared to the other models in the Unno range, which are always virtual pivot. The are 3 sizes, divided according to the length of the reach in S1, S2 and S3.

The frame is made of carbon fiber with particularly innovative lines. Even in terms of materials, the Burn stands out from mainstream products with an eye to the environment, thanks to some plastic components recycled by Oceanworks from fishing nets abandoned at sea, for a total of 2 ounces on each bike. Each frame is covered by a lifetime warranty.

The compression curve of the suspension system is markedly progressive to get along with coil sprung shock absorbers. The entire kinematics rotate on Enduro MAX double row ball bearings that ensure longer life and improve the lateral stiffness of the rear end.

There is no need to comment on how much the SWAT system has become widely adopted. Unno uses the storage system inside the down tube with its version simply called Storage, which is able to accommodate an inner tube, tools and some spare parts.

The routing of the cables inside the frame and the integrated DEUX cockpit, produced by Unno, contribute to the clean and linear design of the Burn.

The spec option available for the moment is the one shown, with the components you see in the photos, at a price of 7,795 euros. The weight was not passed on to us. The S1 and S3 sizes will be available from August while the S2 will be available at the beginning of July.
