[Gallery] Rampage Day One

[ad3]

After a great number of changes as well as the continued progression, Rampage kicks off.  Today was the first day that the liabilities media nerds were allowed on site, so we can finally deliver you the goods.  It’s tough out there.  Finals are just two days away and riders are still fervently scratching away at their lines all day with skeleton crews at a max of two diggers.  It’s absurd what these guys go through.  Most riders are most of the way done and have tee’d up the most critical sections, but they’re far from nailing full runs.  In short, it’s scary out there.

Sunrise heading towards Zion.
The top. NO photo does this place justice. This is the most demented Rampage ever.
Digger juice.
Brendog, Brett Rheeder and Norbs….Moving mountains.
Kyle Strait. Looking for a 3 peat.
Everywhere you point your camera, there are amazing things to be seen here.
Aggy and Doerfling. Mental.
Tom VanSteenbergen easing into his line first thing in the morning.
Sam Reynolds at the top.
Andreu Lacondeguy was charging.
Andreu was also already spinning.
Zink with a canyon gap into his big drop. He botched it shortly after this but is still OK.
Olly Wilkins stacking and packing.
Tom VanSteenbergen chipping away at his upper line.
Brandon Semenuk on a mission.
Judgers gonna judge.
We missed it but Kyle Strait safely landed this.
Brendog’s Canyon gap. He crashed on it shortly after in nearly dark light. He’s sore but trying to rally.
James Doerfling. The most under stated and under rated in freeride. This could finally be his year at Rampage. The course certainly suits his style.  He is THE best big mountain rider on the planet and this is the gnarliest course we’ve seen.
