The first day of the Trans Madeira race ended yesterday. Madeira’s traditional oceanic climate welcomed riders with showers of rain and therefore a fair amount of mud on the trails. At the moment Joe Connell is in the lead with Christian Textor and Lachlan Blair nipping at his heels on this first day of competition in the mud of the Portuguese island. Spoiler: by looking carefully at the photos, you will notice some spy shots of something that we will present to you shortly.
