Livigno: give a name to the trail!

On Friday, August 14, a new trail, fast, flowing and with big bumps, is going to be open at Carosello 3000. Its name? You can choose it voting on the mountain park web site.

After the opening of the flow country trails “Coast to Coast” and “Roller Coaster”, Carosello 3000 Livigno is preparing to cut the ribbon on a third trail designed exclusively for mountain biking. Friday, August 14 the curtain opens on a trial of a different kind, very fast and flowing, distinguished by wide banked turns and large rounded bumps that will ensure the great air-time to more experienced bikers.

Some features? The new trail starts as an offshoot of the “Coast to Coast”, and, developing over a length of 4.4 km, reaches the middle station of the gondola Carosello 3000 of St. Rocco. The vertical drop is 400 m, and the average slope is once again less than 10%, in order to ensure the safety and fun even to amateur bikers and sportive families.

And the name? Bikers themselves will decide it. Thanks to the initiative “Name this trail” on the website of the Mountain Park Carosello 3000 you can watch the action-cam video of the new trail in order to understand better its features, and you can vote for your favourite name among a series of proposals till the midnight of Wednesday, August 12. Not only, but you can also submit your proposal that will be included in the voting.

During the first part of the summer many famous riders have already tested the new trails : Xco Champion Marco Aurelio Fontana (the first biker to ride down the entire “Roller Coaster”, even before the official opening), Hans “No Way” Rey, pioneer in mountain biking and spokesperson for Livigno, Danny MacAskill, phenomenon auto-generated through YouTube, Vittorio Brumotti, astonishing trial-biker, Gioele Bertolini, young promise of Xco from Valtellina, and finally, 13-time Italian Downhill Champion Alan Beggin. And Alan is also a pro-rider to be chased during the competition 3K Up&Down on August 2, organized together with the Advenure Awards and Crank Brothers.

The mountain bike project of Carosello 3000 envisages a riding concept that is never extreme and is suitable for those who want to experience the mountains and mountain biking in a free and relaxed way. The project aims to make Livigno a full spectrum MTB location, but also to bring a growing number of people closer to MTB, contributing considerably to the tourism and bike industry.

With the new one, there will be 15 km of trails opened by Carosello 3000 this season, in addition to the existing network (cross-country style) of the same length and to the numerous trails reserved exclusively for hikers and runners. It is a further confirmation that Carosello 3000 has become one of the Italian and European mountain areas with lifts-system which is more organized for summer and winter outdoor sports.
