Crank Brothers showed off some cool new products at Interbike. Although it isn’t anything too techy or mindblowing, we really really like the concept behind the new compact tool. Most mountain bikers love Y shaped wrenches. This tool features two of them as well as most everything you want including a chain tool and even either a patch kit or a C02 inflator. Very nifty. Comes as a 12 tool or a 16 tool setup. We don’t have a price or a weight yet, but they will both be reasonable and we can expect good things as Crank Brothers has always been a leader in the compact tool market.
Crank Brothers were nice enough to send us home with the 16 Bit tool for a test. Stay tuned for our trailside findings.
The Mallet Pedal is unquestionably the most successful gravity clipless pedals. At least according to most of the World Cup field that is. The good news is that they are now FINALLY being offered in Black. We also grabbed a set of these for review. Stay tuned for our findings.

The new XC race wheel caught our eye as well. Dubbed the Cobalt 11, the 29″ wheelset comes in at 1,650 grams and the 27.5″ wheelset tips the scales at a scant 1540 grams. Carbon rim, Gold hubs, tubeless ready and looking pretty tough. They aren’t cheap at $2,300, but they sure look amazing.
