[Press Release]
Today sees the launch of Rex, KASK’s new mountain bike helmet with advanced cooling, comfort and protection. KASK’s record with road cycling helmets is second to none – and the aim is to bring the success of their winning development relationship with Team Sky to the MTB arena. Here’s the info and images about our new helmet, Rex.
With 20 perfectly placed vents, Rex benefits from maximum airflow at slower speeds and in warmer climates, allowing riders to stay cool and in control. The optimum airflow is complemented by innovative frontal pads with new technologies which encourage efficient sweat evaporation, providing comfort and temperature management.
The Rex’s tough In-Moulding design, extended head coverage and advanced ventilation system provide superior protection and comfort.
The rider’s entire head is protected including the Lower Occipital bone in the rear and added temporal coverage in front for additional safety. The Octo-fit adjustable rear fitting system affords a wide range of adjustment to fit all head shapes and sizes in complete comfort. Produced using the innovative In-Moulding system, the Rex offers the same mechanical strength and shock resistance as KASK’s other leading helmets.
Rex is available in four colourways and two sizes.
At just 290g the Rex is light weight for the superior protection and comprehensive head coverage it offers.
“We are proud to introduce the new Rex helmet. To make this we have undertaken extensive research and testing in laboratory conditions and out on the trail. We are trying to do the same kind of job in the MTB discipline as we did with Team Sky on the road helmets. We have also taken feedback from high-level mountain bikers from around the world and across the disciplines; they have all contributed to enhancements and developments to make the best MTB helmet possible,” says Diego Zambon, KASK General Manager.
Visor & Goggle Clip
The Rex features a removable multi-position ratcheting visor and integrated goggle retention clip at the rear for aggressive and demanding trails and competition. There is a Lux Leather chinstrap and integrated top mount Action Camera which is easily removable. Visor and Goggle Clip are made from plastic polymer, and the visor screws are made from aluminium.
The Rex is available throughout Europe and North America by Christmas 2015. It comes in two sizes, with a highly flexible fitting system to ensure that it fits most head sizes and shapes snugly, comfortably and safely. The two size are Medium (52–58cm) and Large (59–62cm). The Rex comes in a choice of four colourways: lime, light blue, red, and white.
