Laurie Greenland and Mondraker Part Ways

[Press Release]  – Thanks for everything, Laurie! After 6 excellent and successful years as a rider for the MS Mondraker team, the Brit and Mondraker have decided to go their separate ways after enjoying an excellent and successful relationship.

Laurie Greenland has given the brand the most World Cup podiums since joining the MS Mondraker team in 2016, but the Englishman will leave the team for the 2022 season.

After 6 years of close collaboration with the brand and the team, the 2015 Junior World Champion will not line up under the iconic MS pits from next season. Having first signed in 2016 following his junior title, Greenland has secured one of his best elite results to date by earning an impressive silver medal at the UCI World Championships in Val di Sole, where behind team rider Danny Hart, he helped create a historic milestone for the sport, as the three podium positions were shared by Mondraker riders. The first complete podium lockout for any DH mountain bike brand or team.

From that silver medal at the 2016 World Championships, Greenland would go on to fly the new Summum and Summum Carbon to notable results including World Cup podiums in Lenzerheide (2017.4th), Leogang (2018, 3rd), Val di Sole (2018, 2nd), Vallnord (2018, 4th), Les Gets (2019, 3rd) and Val di Sole (2019) where he finished 1st with his first UCI World Cup victory. 2021 also saw him on the podium in 2 World Cup races, with a strong 3rd in Maribor and 5th in Lenzerheide.

Other prestigious podiums for the Englishman include his victories in the iXS European Cup in Maribor in 2018 and Pila in 2019, as well as his splendid second place in the Red Bull Hardline 2021. Undoubtedly results that confirm Laurie’s great skills and her great competitive ability.

Miguel Pina, CEO of Mondraker, stresses that “nothing lasts forever. It has been six emotional years that have made us tremble anxiously in front of the TV, or better yet, have seen us suffer nervously at the finish line of many World Cups as we watched the clock. Laurie was one of the pilots who built her career alongside the brand, creating the most successful MS-Mondraker stage to date, we have grown along the way and most of all we have enjoyed together the spirit of competition that unites us. . We wish him all the best for his new stage and, of course, see you at the races! “

Lukas Haider, MS Team Manager, added “It has been a pleasure to work with Laurie. He is a very talented rider, a hard worker and an emotional rider. It was great to see Laurie grow from a talented junior rider to the pro elite rider she is now and share some of the milestones in her career so far such as her 2nd place at the 2016 World Championships or her first World Cup win. in 2019 in Val di Sole. “

A rider on the track and a very positive team colleague, Laurie is a fan favorite and has fitted seamlessly into the MS Mondraker family bringing with her a fun and positive attitude, backed by an amazing vision of all situations.

MS Mondraker team owner Markus Stöckl commented: “We have to say goodbye to Laurie Greenland, who joined us 6 years ago as a very talented and loose young rider in her elite first year. Laurie was asking for some peace to evolve and become a professional athlete. We are looking back at a lot of fun stories, good racing, some great adventures and the great experience of seeing Laurie evolve into a top-tier professional athlete with all the skills and passion to be on top in many races. “

Laurie will embark on the next chapter of her career with a different team, but from all of the MS and Mondraker family, we thank him for his dedication, his contribution to the team and the podiums he has given us. Laurie, we wish you all the best for the future and look forward to seeing you continue to tear the trails apart.
