Mavic Announces The New Deemax Flat Pedal Shoe

Mavic is diving head first into the flat pedal shoe game with a new line of Deemax shoes. The “Pro” flat is a mid top, while the “Elite” is a low top. Perhaps this is due to a bit of Sam Hill’s influence? Either way, they look fairly well thought out. Details in the press release below….

Deemax Pro Flat

Designed with cutting edge materials and technologies, this next-generation downhill shoe helps you take your gravity game to the next level.

The Deemax Pro Flat is purpose-built for control, confidence and rugged durability. It starts with its unique upper, made with patented Matryx® technology, which features a tough Kevlar® and polyamide blend for light weight and high abrasion resistance. The material is also easy to clean and is resistant to water, so it won’t weigh you down in wet, muddy conditions. The sole features a spider shape tread on the forefoot and wide grooves near the heel for confident off-the-bike traction.

It’s designed with additional toe and heel protection and a padded ankle guard. So whether you’re racing against the clock or tackling new lines on a black diamond descent, the Deemax Pro Flat keeps you connected and in control.

Deemax Elite Flat

This flat pedal trail shoe provides a confident pedal connection and added stability so you can ride aggressive terrain with confidence.

When you’re tackling aggressive trails, a good pedal connection can be the difference between nailing that aggressive line you’ve been thinking about for weeks, or bailing out early. The Deemax Elite Flat is built with a Spider sole design that gives you a stable connection so you can stay confident and keep your flow going strong.

The Contagrip® sole material produces powerful traction, even on the most challenging mountain terrain. For comfort we’ve added our Ortholite® insole, offering superior cushioning on and off the bike. We designed the Deemax Elite Flat with an asymmetric fit that’s well suited to aggressive riding conditions, and also included additional heel and toe protection to fend off trail obstacles and beef up durability.
