We just caught wind of Meekboyz, a new bike company building carbon fiber DH bikes for kids in 20″, 24″ and 26″ wheels with specially designed linkages that allow shocks to run 100-150 PSI range (appropriate for lighter riders). Interesting stuff to say the least…After watching the Meeks ripping Whistler above, check out the press release below for all of the details.

Hong Kong: As a family, The Meeks know a thing or two about success as they follow their sons Rory and Toby around the world’s BMX racing circuit. Originally from New Zealand, but now based in Hong Kong, parents Steve and Donna dedicate all their free time to enabling their boys to train, race and follow their passions for any sport involving two wheels. At the tender ages of 10 and 12, Rory and Toby are already veterans of success, with Toby holding the Hong Kong Number One spot in BMX for the last five years, and Rory as World Number Three for two consecutive years.
Inspired by their illustrious success, and with a family passion for riding, these achievements have spawned a brand of mountain bikes under the eponymous title of Meekboyz. The goal is to give children the chance to experience top quality mountain bikes unlike anything that is currently on offer.
Developed in-house by Steve Meek, using his vast experience and knowledge of the world of mountain bike racing, and priced between US$6875 and US$8375, the bikes feature all the latest materials and technology to enable any keen rider to pursue their dreams in this exciting and challenging sport.
“We have solved the biggest, current problem in kids’ downhill riding and kids no longer have only to choose from B-grade bikes that they have the ability and skill level to outride,” outlines Steve Meek, “Our custom, full-suspension bikes offer significant and instant advancement in high-per- formance riding. We are creating new possibilities for our new riding generation.”
Mum Donna says, “Whenever we develop a new bike we always give the boys the challenge to see if they can break them. They try their best to show us where we can improve the design and manufacturing, until we are happy and confident in the product.”
The Meekboyz range of ultra high-quality light-weight carbon bikes are already seeing great results in competitions in America, and are attracting huge interest in the racing community. Toby and Rory are massive brand ambassadors with a growing reputation on the international stage, and the bikes that they compete on are now available to any keen rider.
