Megavalanche 2016, the photo story

Remy Absalon did it again. The Frenchman won the 2016 Megavalanche in front of a strong pack of enduro riders who are already in the Western Alps, waiting for EWS La Thuile next weekend. Strong performance from Pauline Dieffenthaler (Jerome Clementz’s girlfriend), on the top spot of the women podium. This is our photo story.

Ready to go. This is when the song “La Bomba” marks the beginning of the madness.
Staying up front is super important to avoid being smashed down by falling competitors.
No ice this year.

Like this.
The killing uphill. Fans try to push the riders in every way.
Flats…
Torn derailleurs…
Snapped chains…
Bombed rims…
All that for this? Not really, it’s more being able to say “I did it”.
Men podium.
The winner, Remy Absalon
