Mondraker Presents The Raze and an Updated Foxy

It’s a big news day for Mondraker who are showing off two new models for the 2022 season, the Raze, new for the trail segment, and the Foxy, more and more enduro than its previous iteration, which was born as an all mountain bike.

Both models boast a frame made entirely of carbon fiber with Stealth Air Full Carbon technology and share all the main features that characterize the top models of the Iberian brand.

Raze Carbon

Let’s start by talking about the Raze, the absolute novelty of the 2022 range. Mondraker reintroduces in its catalog a pure trail bike that combines light weight minimalism with aggressive downhill oriented geometry, with the aim of offering a significantly high performance bike both uphill and downhill.

Raze details

  • Stealth Air Full Carbon carbon fiber frame
  • Carbon fiber upper shock link
  • Lower link optimized in terms of weight / stiffness ratio
  • 150mm front travel
  • 130mm rear travel
  • Updated Zero Suspension System
  • Forward Geometry
  • Integrated MIND telemetry
  • Internal and guided cable routing
  • Enduro Dual bearings
  • Integrated mudguard for the shock absorber
  • Integrated protection for the frame
  • Fidlock bottle mount integrated in the frame

Mondraker’s traditional Zero Suspension suspension system has been optimized for improved pedaling efficiency and offers 130mm of travel out back paired with a 150mm fork. It is equipped with an integrated MIND system for reading telemetry data via the app. The linkage rod driving the shock is made from carbon fiber while the lower one, in aluminum, has been updated to improve the weight : stiffness ratio. The geometry is aggressive and, combined with the Forward Geometry concept, is very modern.

The rear shock is protected by an integrated mudguard. The front triangle houses the attachment for the bottle cage, with a recessed mount for Fidlock support, and a second attachment under the top tube, to mount an spares. The frame is equipped with hard rubber protectors and the cable routing is internal and guided.

Foxy

We now come to Foxy, the famous Mondraker all mountain model, born in 2004 and historically the most popular of the brand. The new Foxy winks more and more toward enduro with its even more aggressive geometry, suspension optimized for the descents and a beefed up rear end, compared to the previous model.

Foxy details

  • Stealth Air Full Carbon carbon fiber frame
  • Carbon fiber upper shock link
  • Lower link optimized in terms of weight / stiffness ratio
  • 160mm front travel (170mm in the XR set-up)
  • 150mm rear travel
  • Updated Zero Suspension System
  • Forward Geometry
  • Adjustable geometry
  • Integrated telemetry MIND
  • Internal and guided cable routing
  • Enduro Dual bearings
  • Integrated mudguard for the shock absorber
  • Integrated protections for the frame
  • Seat for Fidlock bottle cage integrated in the frame

Like the Raze, the Zero Suspension suspension system adopts a carbon upper link and a new lighter and stiffer lower link. Both links compress the shock absorber which in this new model has a longer stroke for a lower lever ratio and therefore a more plush, better controlled behavior. All the trim levels of the new Foxy Carbon are equipped as standard with the integrated MIND telemetry system.

The geometry of the new Foxy is even more aggressive and are obviously based on the traditional Forward Geometry concept with which Mondraker has made a name for themselves. They are adjustable in two positions, with a variation of 0.5° at the head angle, of 5mm for the height of the bottom bracket and of 10mm for the length of the rear by means of a flip chip on the lower shock mount. Moreover, it is possible to vary the steering angle even further by +/- 1° thanks to the headset cups, supplied as standard with the XR trim level and as an option for the other trim levels.

Like the Raze, the Foxy is also equipped with an integrated mudguard to protect the shock absorber as well as hard rubber protectors for the down tube and the rear. The passage of the cables is internal and guided and the front triangle houses a bottle cage with a recessed mount for Fidlock and mounts for spares under the top tube.
