Happy New Year everyone! Yesterday at midnight was MTB-MAG readers’ last chance to vote for their favourite bike in 2016, so at this point the results are in. Let’s start by saying that around 43,080 cyclists voted from all over the world, therefore the numbers are quite representative of a broad view.
The Scott Spark RC with which Nino Schurter won the gold medal at the Rio Olympics dominated the XC category. Along with the new Cannondale Scalpel it has raised the bar for full suspension in competition, and we are confident that we will begin to see many more around the amateur races in the 2017 season.
The next 4 bikes were the Canyon Exceed , Bianchi Methanol CV , Trek Pro Caliber and Specialized Epic HT, a sign that the simplicity – and light weight – a hardtail still has plenty of appeal.
Congratulations to Scott Bikes!
