New Semi Slick Tire From E*Thirteen

E*Thirteen just launched a new Semi Slick version of their tires TRS and LG1 tires, created for those looking for less rolling resistance without sacrificing cornering grip, thanks to rows of aggressive side knobs and smaller central knobs, claimed to offer grip under braking. A set of tires just showed up for us to test, by the way…

The width of the new Semi Slick tire is 2.35″ (actual), with different versions of the casing providing a dual ply for the downhill version called LG1 S/S DH, a mid weight single ply enduro version called LG1 S/S EN and a single ply casing named TRS S/S. There are two available compounds: Race, which is softer and more aggressive and Plus, which is more affordable both in terms of cost and wear.

1 – REINFORCED PINCH FLAT ZONE, PUTTING MORE RUBBER WHERE YOU NEED IT
2 – TIGHTLY-SPACED, STRAIGHT CENTER KNOBS PROVIDE SERIOUS BRAKING BITE
3 – ANGLED SIPES SOFTEN THE SIDE KNOBS FOR BETTER CORNERING TRACTION, WITHOUT MAKING THEM FEEL “SQUIRMY”
4 – CENTER KNOBS LINE UP WITH THE SIDE KNOBS FOR A PREDICTABLE TRANSITION IN CORNERING
5 – DIRECTIONAL SIPES BENEFIT BRAKING AND CORNERING TRACTION, WITHOUT SACRIFICING DURABILITY

All the versions of the new Semi Slick tires have an apex insert to increase the support of the sidewalls. To improve resistance to cuts, there is an added protective layer dubbed aramid, from side to side for the Race version and only below the tread for the Plus version.
