[Press Release] – Enduralin – It’s the difference between the tentative first go of the year and the ripping third lap of a midsummer day. It’s the ease of knowing your suspension is dialed. It’s a boost of confidence, speed and control when a bit more of any could make a winning formula. Enduralin is the extra bit of fun that turns a good ride into a great one – the shouting of the crowd, a flow state of euphoria, cowbells, chainsaws, accelerated reaction time and enhanced perception. It’s the difference between a Good Time and All-Time.
Rallon is for riders who enjoy gravity most of all. It’s a bike for those who want a machine capable of anything – challenging descents, racing and bike park laps are the natural domain of Rallon. Enduro racers will find that Rallon is the perfect machine for demanding EWS tracks, and with an increase in travel to 160mm rear, 170mm front, Rallon becomes one of the most capable bikes available outside of a pure DH machine.
DETAILS
ASYMMETRICAL FRAME
The most striking feature of the Rallon has always been the asymmetrical frame design. By moving the frame brace off-center we created a perfect balance of stiffness, durability and low weight. DHX damper controls are easily reached while riding and suspension forces on the frame are minimized by the reinforcement. Moving the bottle slightly to the left side of the frame offers easy access to your water. These are small details but Rallon has always been about pushing performance.
LONGER TRAVEL WITH NEW KINEMATICS
Rallon gets a bump in travel to 160mm with a redesigned linkage assembly. Early stroke sensitivity is improved by a higher starting leverage ratio, while the progressivity is increased from 8% to 20% to provide more bottom-out support.
Frame geometry remains unchanged even though travel is increased, and the addition of a 170mm Fox 36 gives Rallon a boost of Enduralin with a new head angle of 64.5º
THE INDUSTRY LEADER IN PERSONALIZATION
Rallon has new graphic and of course is again available through MyO, so you can design the bike you need for your style of riding. Fork and shock options, aluminum or carbon wheels, brake selection, different stem lengths, matte or gloss colors that you select can all be part of the package. Build the Rallon that is perfect for you!
WAIT, THERE IS ONE MORE THING
Riders and reviewers the world over have been so happy with our Rallon R5 that the idea of scrapping an excellent bike for the sake of “new” just didn’t feel right. We took rider feedback and collaborated with Thomas Lapeyrie and our EWS team to determine a subtle but profound evolution – a bump in rear travel to 160mm, a kinematic adjustment to improve sensitivity and a more progressive leverage curve were combined to keep Rallon progressing along with your riding.
We are excited to announce this important update to the 2020 Rallon is available in a $299 USD (€249) linkage assembly that is completely backwards-compatible with any R5. Rally On!
