Last night the short track XC race took place in Nove Mesto, a race that establishes the starting grid of the first 40 athletes, and which provides points for the World Cup. On the course muddied by the rains from the previous days, the riders did not spare themselves, in particular MVDP and Thomas Pidcock, with a sprint at the finish won by the Dutchman with a crazy progression.
Among the women the sprint did not come, but the American Haley Batten reached the finish line with a 16 second advantage over the French Lecomte. A bad crash for Ferrand-Prevot, who describe it like this:
