[Racing] Val di Sole XC: Schurter Beats Kerschbaumer by 6 Seconds

Gerhard Kerschaumer put on an amazing effort here in in Val di Sole, but Nino Schurter still managed to break away from him only during the last descent, crossing the finish line a few seconds in front of the Italian champion. It was a close race to say the least…

In third was Van Der Poel, and in fourth Avancini, at his best ever placement in a World Cup. All in all, it was quite a showing from the Italians on home turf, there were in fact 4 athletes in the top 20. Complete results here .

In the women’s, Polish racer Maja Wloszczowska bested Emily Batty and with Jolanda Neff nipping at here heels. Complete results here .
