For the last couple of weeks, we’ve been getting charged up about Rampage and have spent some time connecting with various riders as they prepare to head to Utah for the biggest freeride event of the year. Unquestionably one of the most entertaining guys out there is Andreu Lacondeguy. He flat out answers to no one and is a total character on and off the bike. After bagging a big win in 2015, he’s not really stressed about it this year. And with how much moto he’s been riding lately, why would he be stressed about mountain biking in general – even if it’s Rampage. Here is what the savage Catalonian had to say…
MTB-Mag: What are some big changes you make to your bike for Rampage?
Andreu: Not much really, same set up as usual, just some extra love for the brakes.
MTB-Mag: Do you have any major changes of kit or your protective wear?
Andreu: I keep it simple, but if I feel like I need some protection I will put it on!
MTB-Mag: Are you changing anything in your line this year? If so what are you changing?
Andreu: I’m not sure yet. I like to drop from the middle but we see.
MTB-Mag: What’s your biggest fear or concern this year?
Andreu: Not stressing much about anything at the moment.
MTB-Mag: Do you have any goals for your line or your result? Any tricks you want to do?
Andreu: I’m chillin…I wanna find a line that I’m stoked on and see how things go, I’ve already won this event and I know that it’s all in the head. It would be nice to get the motivation I need to jump on the box again, but as I said we see how things go!
MTB-Mag: Sick man, thanks for always crushing it. Good luck out there and we’ll see you soon!
