For our last Road to Rampage feature, we’re catching up with Thomas Genon, better known as Tommy G. The French slopestyle rider isn’t afraid to send it on DH bikes and busted out one of the sickest moves last year at Rampage 2016 with a huge 360 invert tabletop. Check out what he had to say as he heads into this year’s event.
MTB-Mag: What are some big changes you make to your bike for Rampage?
Tommy G: Nothing too special except different suspension settings . The guys at FOX are on site and that help us a lot . As they are not braking bumps at Rampage but lots of heavy impacts & jumps . The suspension need to be super firm.
MTB-Mag: Do you have any major changes of kit or your protective wear?
Tommy G: No, not really , just the same as usual.
MTB-Mag: Are you changing anything in your line this year? If so what are you changing?
Tommy G: Let’s see when we get there but for sure it would be great to find something new and different to add to the line .
MTB-Mag: What’s your biggest fear or concern this year?
Tommy G: I am more stoked than ever about competing at Rampage this year. I just hope we get to the event safe and nothing gets in our way on the day of the contest.
MTB-Mag: Do you have any goals for your line or your result? Any tricks you want to do?
Tommy G: It would be good to improve from all the previous years. 2017 was a hard year for me and I just want to have as much fun as possible on my bike and be happy with my riding on the day of the contest!
