Hope has been showing off a super sick new cassette. Although we don’t know quite when it will be available, we do have some preliminary specs and it looks quite brilliant.
It’s a 10-40 tooth cassette that can be dismantled into two separate pieces. The Larger sprockets are aluminum, the lower sprocket is one piece steel. When separated, the lower piece is perfect for a DH cassette.
• 10/12/14/16/18/21/24 one piece steel cassette
• 28/34/40 individual aluminium sprockets
• 20% maximum change in ratios
• Weights : DH Cassette – 156g // XC Cassette – 280g
Pictured above, a prototype model of the cassette mounted two different ways : XC and DH.
Hope was also showing off a new Direct Mount stem for DH. It’s offered in a 6 bolt, 40mm length and an 8 bolt 50mm length, and we’re sure it will be available in all sorts of colors.
