[ad3] We spent all day yesterday getting sunburnt, wandering around the pits and scouring for the goods at Sea Otter. Here are a few of the cooling items we happened upon.
The new Race Race Next SL. 430 grams. 436 grams here pictured with crank boots. 30mm spindle, no Aluminum inserts (aside from at the pedals); it’s full carbon fiber.
Multiple colorways available.
A carbon fiber spider is removable, but permanently sandwiches the chainrings. If you want to swap rings, you need to swap spiders.
The classic Maxxis tread patterns in 29″ ++.
29X3.0. That’s a huge tire.
The most talked about bike of the show. Chainline bikes built this all out custom Intense M16.
All the details…
Pivot LES hardtail with a Phoenix DH bike lurking out back.
Swoopy and short rear end.
Details
New Ergon SMC4-L saddle. A bit wider with a bit more gel and comes in multiple widths. We’ll be testing one shortly. Stay tuned.
SMC3 Comp.
New BOX components drivetrain lineup.
Some cool feature on this drivetrain. The derailleur moves inboard and away from contact with rocks and trailside obstacles. Also, the thumb shifter has a split paddle, both of which you push for upshifts and downshifts.
Waterbottle/tool stash from BOX. The two pieces snap together and you can store tools in the lower one, or if you’d like store more water/mix in their instead.
The new Highline. Starting with 125mm travel, eventually 100 and 150mm will be added. 580 grams, 3 year warranty.
Quick disconnects, High end features like Jagwire slick cables, IGUS bushings and Trelleborg seals. The heim joint style paddle adjustment is brilliant and Crank Brothers are really trying to set things straight with this one. We’ll be testing one soon.
