Specialized dropped some rather interesting news about the new Enduro for 2018 while there were up in Whistler for Crankworx. The biggest change is that the top tubes are FINALLY longer. The full geometry chart is below and the length increase varies with size, but it’s on average about 15mm longer. Additionally, they’ve worked also managed to work adjustable geometry into the equation. They’ve also launched an interesting dropper seatpost with which the seat angle changes as you drop it. Last, but not least, they announced the SWAT CC, a multi tool/headlock/chain tool combo that drops into your head tube. We’ve already currently testing one and loving it. Anyhow, you can find the press release, specs, etc. straight from the horse’s mouth below…
WHAT IS NEW?
For the MY18 Enduro we had an opportunity to make some updates, and based on rider feedback, we did. Let’s dig into the changes!
GEOMETRY
The top tube for both the 29 and 27.5 have been lengthened, and will have the same cockpit feel between the two. Also, the top tube on the 27.5 has been adjusted a bit, so it shares a similar look to the 29 platform. Want all the numbers, check below!
SUSPENSION
Enduro 29
New extension that has an adjustment that changes the BB height, and HT angle, by using a flip chip. New link to accommodate the extension.
Enduro 27.5
Shock mount has been moved for a more progressive wheel rate.
New extension that has an adjustment that changes the BB height, and HT angle, by using a flip chip.
Both the extension and link for the 29 platform, and extension for the 27.5 platform will be available as service parts, so any MY17 Enduro can gain the rad new benefits of these bikes, and no new shock tune is necessary.
