Today the first run of the E-EWS took place in Scotland and it seems that a rider from the Nukeproof team rode on prototypes of the Megawatt – unpainted and with an unknown engine. In the Kelan Grant vlog video (the video has gone private) you can see some interesting details.
The engine is certainly not the Shimano EP8 that the Megawatt comes with currently.
Its shape is rather elongated.
There do not appear to be any remote handlebar controls, nor cables. The service control is probably integrated with the AXS wireless product family.
Other handlebar angle:
On closer inspection (zoom in on the image) there appears to be a cable running from the rear derailleur. Maybe the central battery goes to power the electronic components, instead of the usual SRAM batteries?
The display is located on the top tube, along with the system’s power button.
What do you think?
