The New Nukeproof Scout

After 5 years of time on the market Nukeproof updates the Scout with a third version. The aggressive hardtail has a new frame with updated tubing profiles, new geometry and other small details that we will go over shortly. All spec levels are available with both 29-inch and 27.5-inch wheels.

The new tubes are triple-butted and hydroformed, in 6061 T6 aluminum alloy, for a total weight of 2.35kg for the 27.5″ frame. They are designed to offer structural rigidity and at the same time bump absorption and flex where necessary and advantageous.

As with the previous version, the new Scout is optimized for 140mm travel forks but has a more modern geometry setting, in line with the rest of the Nukeproof range. The head angle is more relaxed, the seat angle steeper by 1° and the reach numbers are all longer. The length of the rear center is also proportional to each size.

Other details rounding out features adopted on the new Scout are the storage under the top tube that matches the bottle cage, the pre-formed rubber protection and the UDH dropout.

Geometry: Scout 275

Geometry: Scout 290
