[Trail Hunter] Crans Montana Bike Park – Switzerland

After an epic week in Switzerland chasing some high mountain trails we decided to head lowish towards Crans Montana bike park and trail area. As a ski resort in winter the summer was when the Swiss realised the potential and developed a bike park. The park consists of three or four main trails, and drops riders down around 800 metres to the station start.

The bike park is well groomed, well maintained, and was well serviced with lifts, which meant no wait time. Once at the top with Martin from Alpine Trails we explored all the different runs and came out with a feeling of being satisfied. The bike park is not the most well known but is looked after well, with some great corners and jumps, each leading to the next without upsetting the flow, strung together we are talking about at least 15 minutes of descent. Each of the trail features were well built by experienced builders who know what they are doing, making for some safe and fun riding.

Good lift access to the top of the bike trails.
Classic Swiss views in the meadows up to the trail heads.
Look across the valley to the villages on the other side at 2000 metres height.
Enduro trails lurk in these hills.

On-board during a sprint down the trails.
The trails were flowey and rough in places.
Incredible ridge line trail run near the top of the red run.
15 minutes of back to back corners and flow.
Martin from Alpine trails showed us how to ride.
a few locals before the drop in.
The top of the track has been cut perfectly from the hillside with lots of back to back flowing curves.
It was as good as it looked.
Lower down the wooded section gave rise to some root riding.
Marin pushed his nomad to the limit.
Roots and Loam a perfect combination.
Last shot of the rider before the rain arrived.
Others learning to jump through the cloud.
Alex and Martin pre ride ready for the attack.

Overall we really enjoyed our time in the bike park. It was perfect for all levels of rider with nothing too technical or difficult. It fitted perfectly into our days with Alpine Trails in the high mountain passes and gave some welcome fun riding.
