[Trail Hunter] Sestri Levante’s “Mimose” With Davide Sottocornola

[ad3]

The Mediterranean coast from Spain, through France and all the way around to the Italian coast near Rome is dotted with trails and single track routes. Characterised and now used for Enduro riding most recently due to their often rocky nature and technical features, all these trails are a focal point for European riders looking for great weather conditions and fun spots to ride.

“Mimose” is a trail located in Sestri Levante, Liguria. It is a fairly tough Enduro trail to ride but one that deserves the trail hunting exposure, especially when we got to ride it with Davide Sottocornola, an Italian Enduro national champion and pro rider. It has beautiful views, is rocky, fast and will test your bike skills to the limit if you want to try and ride at race speeds. Used numerous times by the Superenduro race series, it is a classic that is well worth a visit. Take a look at the Strava times and see who some of the fastest are, Jerome Clementz is one of them.

Video: Trail Hunt On Board With Davide Sottocornola

Trail Hunter Sestri Levante from MTB MAG on Vimeo.

Davide rides the top part of the trail, fast and loose.

The next part of the trail is characterised by lots of dirt corners, some at awkward angles.

The trail then leaves the woods and drops down, it is hard rock and technical in places.

Some chutes like this look easy but are actually quite tricky, hence choose your line carefully.

Davide shows us how he rides different sections, here you can see two line choices, one straight, and the other one around a corner.

Straight-lining through is about jumping sometimes.

The trail continues to drop down into Sestri Levante.
