Trek Factory Racing partners with SRAM and RockShox

Some big news from a big team just got announced. Trek will no longer be aboard Shimano and Fox as they have recently partnered with SRAM/RockShox for XC and Enduro. Rumor has it that they’ve signed a new athlete for their Enduro program who should be quite promising as well. Anyhow, full details in the press release below…

Marquee Trek XC and Enduro teams to be outfitted with SRAM and RockShox

(Waterloo, WI) – Beginning in 2018, the Trek Factory Racing cross country and enduro teams will be tackling the UCI Cross Country World Cup and Enduro World Series racing circuits with SRAM drivetrains, SRAM brakes, and RockShox suspension. The partnership between Trek Factory Racing and SRAM comes as the two Midwest-based brands look to expand collaboration on racing and product development.

“The partnership between Trek Factory Racing, SRAM, and RockShox formed naturally,” said Trek’s Director of Sports Marketing, Tim Vanderjeugd. “The deal is much more than a sponsorship transaction: it’s the start of a new relationship bringing two technology and performance-driven companies together at the highest level of the sport. Our global headquarters are only a few hours away from each other and there was an extraordinary level of engagement and excitement on both sides from day one. We can’t wait to get the racing going!”

Both teams have big plans and busy schedules in their respective disciplines. The Trek Factory Racing Cross Country team will tackle all UCI World Cups, in addition to select global competitions. The Trek Factory Racing Enduro team will focus on the Enduro World Series, along with racing select global rounds.

SRAM and RockShox will be equipping the enduro team with SRAM X01 Eagle drivetrains, SRAM Code RSC brakes, RockShox Lyric RCT3 forks and RockShox RE:aktiv with Thru Shaft rear suspension. The cross-country team with ride with SRAM XX1 Eagle drivetrains, SRAM Level Ultimate brakes, RockShox SID World Cup forks, and RockShox Deluxe rear suspension.

Look for the Trek Factory Cross Country team to start the season on their new bikes this weekend, when Sergio Mantecon takes to the start line at the Costa Blanca Bike Race in the south of Spain.
