TRP Expands EVO Technology into Trail and Slate Line

[Press Release] – As a result of the successful re-design of the DH-R EVO brake in 2020, the Evolution of TRP continues. Next to the top-of-the line DH-R EVO model, the TRP Trail and Slate series have also received the EVO treatment for this model year with a new pairing of 2.3 mm rotors, new 2.3 mm high-flow calipers, new light-action seals, new hoses, new mineral oil, and our new performance resin pads.

Every year the achievable speeds and capabilities of mountain bikes increase with modern geometry designs, larger wheels, and in some cases the addition of a heavy E-powered engines. At TRP, we believe developing brakes that can handle the higher temperatures and intense usage of E-bikes only go to improve the overall braking experience on analog and gravity powered bikes as well.

After working closely with TRP athletes and product testers, the benefits of using thicker 2.3 mm rotors (standard rotors measure 1.8 mm) with the Trail and Slate brakes became clear. With 47% more lateral rigidity and an 8% better cooling capacity, we are now able to offer a full line of brakes with more consistent power, better modulation, heat management, and less maintenance over time.

Expanding EVO technologies to create the Trail EVO and Slate EVO brings every bike improved performance at an affordable price.

Trail EVO – An evolution of the Quadiem, developed in conjunction with athletes on the World Cup circuit. The Trail EVO is the brake of choice for hardcore Trail, Enduro, and heavy E-MTB riding offering more modulation and a smooth onset of power for an unmatched experience of control. Finished with a shiny black paint, find reliable and consistent braking power in all conditions with the New TRP Trail EVO.
