[ad3]Among the many innovations which SRAM showed off in Massa Marittima, the first revealed is the new line of Truvativ Descendant products .
With the Descendant brand, Truvativ presents a series of new components dedicated to enduro and gravity disciplines.
The philosophy behind the Descendant line is simple: to provide a product at good value for the price, without having to sacrifice anything. Safety comes first, so the components are designed to be first of all safe and reliable, rather than light.
Cranksets
Most interesting are the new cranks. Descendant cranks are now offered in both carbon fiber and aluminum construction as well as with a built in spider vs a direct mount X-Sync chainring option.
Descendant Alloy
With the same chainring as XX1 and X01, the alloy Descendant saves weight thanks to the direct mount style ring. Designed for all-purpose riding, they are robust and resistant to abuse.

Descendant Carbon
The new Descendant Carbon crank comes in at a very respectable weight : price ratio. It’s light enough for XC and strong enough for Enduro / DH.
Descendant DH
Robust enough to withstand any kind of abuse, the Descendant DH abandons direct mount chainring for a more traditional 94 / 4 bcd mounting hole pattern.

Handlebars
The Descendant line of bars will be available in three versions: flat, mid width/rise and full width for DH.
Prices: 163-71 €
Flat
Available in both carbon and aluminum, its 760mm (or 750mm) width is a solution for all riders who want the front end as low as possible.
Rise
Although the sweep is a little different for the raised version of the handlebar, it’s also available in both aluminum and carbon.
DH
The 800mm wide bar is only available in carbon and with slightly more backsweep for the greater width.
Stem
With the Descendant, the Truvativ range can now count on a specific stem enduro in 3 different lengths.
