[Valparaiso] Mick Hannah/Tomas Slavik Bike Checks

Valparaiso City Downhill was a wild one. In this article we go over the minute details of 5th place finisher Mick Hannah, and Tomas Slavik, who pulled off the second best time, barely edged out by Filip Polc.

We start with Sick Mick’s Polygon, a prototype of what should be the new version of Collosus DH. This is the DH bike he’ll run in the 2015 World Cup race series

BOS suspension for Mick. The Idylle Rare fork has a custom black finish on its stanchions, and is equipped with the new FCV(frequency control valve).

Rear linkage detail.

The new, updated rear linkage is more simplified and streamlined than the last iteration that Polygon offered.

Crankset, chainguide and 27.5″ wheels are all by E.13

Box Components rear derailleur.

Shimano Ultegra rear cassette modified down to 7 speed.

Tomas Slavik’s Ghost Nortshore 650b model.

Rock Shox Suspension all around.

SRAM X01 DH 7 speed dedicated DH drivetrain.

We’re assuming that this is simply precautionary. It isn’t that hard to knock a shifter off of your handlebar with you knee in even a mellow crash. Is Tomas prepared for the worst here?

X0 DH cranks.

Tomas prefers to keep a Shaman chainguide on his bike just in case.

Avid Codes for Max power.

DT Swiss FR Gravity 650b.

Ergotec and Truvativ round out Tomas’ cockpit.

While most all of Tomas’ components are comprised of SRAM bits, he is still rocking Shimano pedals.
