Hard to believe it’s already been a week since we wrapped up The 2019 Santa Cruz NZ Enduro in the magical Marlborough Sounds. It took a little longer than usual to clean up the cameras, computers and easy ups, but we are excited to be able to show you a little more of what the racers had to battle and conquer over the three days of racing with this wrap up video.
This was the fifth NZ Enduro edition and only the second time we were not able to fly racers up to the Fosters Clearing on day three for the fabled Wakamarina trail. This year however there was a silver lining to all the cloud and rain. Instead of battling roots and tricky conditions for a third day in a row we were treated to Kiwi allstar, Justin Leov’s, Jentree MTB trails. A bike park offering challenging trails but less roots and more sun, flow and fun. It offered amphitheater style viewing for all three stages from the event village, basically an all day party with a bit of bike racing and “swimming” on the side.
We want to congratulate all racers and making it through one of the toughest three days of racing on offer. We also want to thank them for supporting The NZ Enduro trails initiaive raffle, generously made possible by our amazing event partners. We raised almost five thousand dollars, to go towards maintaining the trails that the event uses; as well as new trail development projects for future race editions. Stay tuned for details for an additional online raffle held in conjunction with TrailFund (www.trailfund.org.nz) open to everyone for your chance to win some of our great raffle items still on offer. 100% of the proceeds put into non profit trail initiatives.

Cheers Sven and Anka and the NZ enduro Team.
